Here you will find artworks that just don’t fit in any of my other categories: quilts, mixed media pieces, hand made books and jewelry. Like what you see? I teach classes relating to many of these pieces.
Cross Body Bag
This cross-body bag incorporates one of my antique postcards transferred to fabric. And is big enough for your phone, keys, and cash. I’ll be teaching this class at the 2017 Houston international Quilt Festival.

Galax: Great Smoky Mountains National Park
This is my contribution to Donna Desoto’s "Inspired By the National Parks" book, published by Schiffer Books.

My Beatles Song Challenge
I chose “Tomorrow Never Knows,” the final track on “Revolver.” I cut apart a deconstructed screen print created by Marie Wiley and quilted with florescent thread. I wanted the quilt to look like the song sounds; psychedelic. Did I succeed? Don’t know the song? Listen to it by clicking on this link. The lyrics will be on the screen.
The book, “inspired By the Beatles” with all 150 quilts will be released by Schiffer Publishing in early September. The quilts will be traveling to several big shows, with the first stop being the 2014 Houston international Quit Festival.

My Beatles Song Challenge (Detail) |
Garden 1
Flowers continue to be one of my main sources of inspiration. This quilt and the next one both combine large scale floral prints with my hand dyed fabrics. |
Garden Memory
A large shrub full of pale roses, all past their prime, fading and losing their colors, was my inspiration. |
Five Hearts
This mixed-media quilt includes metallic paper Dresden edgings and motifs, sequins, beads and metallic stitching. |
Process Not Product
Created for a charity auction, the quote on this piece reminds us that the art making is more important than the art. Layers of sheer silk and metal organza, book pages, beads and metallic threads. |
Vintage Christmas Banner
Created using images printed on fabric from my collection of vintage holiday post cards. They are available to students in my classes. |
Brussels Book
Basically a series of fabric post cards bound together into a book, this is a gathering of all the things that remind me of Brussels; bits of lace, the pleated paper cups from chocolates, my photos of art nouveau buildings and a vintage postcard printed onto fabric. |
Vacation Tag Book
I’m not good at poking holes and sewing traditional book bindings. Starting with shipping tags has given me the freedom to create my own style of book. |
Words of Wisdom, Blue Version
Inspirational quotes about art, bits of papers and fabrics, stenciling, stamping, drawing, making pockets and moving parts — I am having fun! You can too. See the description in my class listings. |
Itty Bitty Tag Necklaces
I have been making these on a whim to go with an outfit, to mark a holiday, as gifts for friends. This is a fun class. |
Crazy Quilted Pins and Pendants
I like working small, lavishing all my best embellishments onto something that will actually get finished. They can be worn as either a pin or a pendant. See my class listings. |
Sarah’s Pin
My very good friend lives in Texas. It was fun to work some Texas-themed items into this gift. I do draw the lime at squashed armadillos, though... |
